GREAT REFORMS FOR LAND BOARD AND FAMC BY A GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER
"DISCLOSURE OF ASSETS" - SUPPORTED BY TRUE AUROVILAINS :
THE AUROVILLE FILES has always been against Private properties as it is in contravention to the Principles of Auroville. This was finally addressed by the Government of India :
A GB member was so interested in the following, forwarded by Aviram, that he met him along with the WC:
“Our experience of protecting Auroville lands in the field for 16 years (since 2003) has taught us that most of the loss of Auroville lands is happening due to corruption inside the Auroville system! In our opinion, this issue has to be addressed very strongly by the Governing Board of the Auroville Foundation if any progress is to be made on land protection. Practically, we suggest that anyone wishing to join or continue their involvement or employment in the land matters of Auroville, as part of the Auroville Foundation, Land board or Land Service, should sign a very strict non-disclosure and conflict of interest contract. This contract should include severe measures in case of violation including loss of employment/position, financial penalties and permanent removal from Auroville. This contract should also allow the authorities free access to the data of their communications, records of their personal bank accounts and any records of ownership of immovable assets by them and their family members. This is in order to make sure that all dealings concerning Auroville Land are from now on honest and transparent.”
Certainly a great victory, for a place where at last one should discover the joy of no longer having any personal possession -- and after 51 years!
BUT SOME AUROVILIANS DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN! WHY ?
