`Benami land, private GH run as an AV GH, and the Auroville Council

Already several years ago, it was pointed out to the FAMC that a guesthouse was registered as an Auroville unit, without anybody at the moment of registration pointing out that the buildings of the guesthouse were partly on privately owned land, and that the executive of the guesthouse was in fact the owner of the land.

I'm talking of course about Suryan and his Isai Ambalam Guesthouse. Even though the issue was flagged already longer ago, and even though the FAMC had instructed the GFCG to rectify this matter by ordering Suryan to sell/lease/donate his land to Auroville, the situation is still exactly the same today, with one minor change: the unit is now under the Hospitality Trust instead of under the Guest House Trust.

Now instead of this issue being high on the FAMC priority list, it has not only been completely buried, but Suryan has become the main member of the Auroville Council. The Council, as we all know, is now on a suicidal trip against the Foundation Office and the Governing Board, dragging Auroville – at least the cult reality that calls itself "Auroville" while being a complete perversion of what Mother intended Auroville to be – down into lost battle, which will have immense consequences for Auroville's legal situation.

Suryan has always claimed that the land was not in his own name. He has spread an emotional story about how his mentally unstable brother made it impossible for him, Suryan himself, to so generously donate his land to Auroville. It is really difficult not to get tears in your eyes when you hear how he so much wants to do that, but is not able to due to his family situation. Shockingly, nothing of it is true.

The land is in Suryan's name and the name of a benami owner.

And even though he could have donated it years ago already to Auroville, he never did.

When Suryan wanted to join the Guest Facilities Coordination Group (GFCG), he was again pressed to make a deal with the Auroville Foundation in order to regularise the registration of the guesthouse as an Auroville unit. But nothing of the sort happened. Instead, he leased the land to his own guesthouse, represented by his mother Bobby, the second executive of the guesthouse unit besides himself.

How Auroville was going to be helped by Suryan officially leasing the land to himself is anyone's guess, but the new FAMC members found it all to be a super good solution that didn't need any further scrutiny.

Even when Carel (who else) had drafted a SALES agreement so that Suryan would SELL the land to the Auroville Foundation, nothing happened, apart from Suryan once more bringing up his tear-jerking fictional story featuring his brother Shastri as the big stumbling block and scapegoat. He now also adds in the words "ancestral land", because you see, in Aurovillage, words do not mean what they normally mean, but they mean what the Aurovillagers want them to mean. The fact that in the rest of the world this action is called "lying", is part of this same re-interpretation of the meaning of words, I guess.

When Suryan's attempt to take control of the GFCG failed, he put himself up for selection for the Auroville Council, and even though the RAS screams from the rooftops how totally they are following all the rules and being open and democratic and so utterly at the service of the “RA”, they in fact only serve the small dominant faction and were very happy to simply ignore the objections made to Suryan's selection, as he was not even supposed to be in the nomination list: he owns land in the MP area, and that, according to the RAS, disqualifies him from being a member of an Auroville (read: Aurovillage) working group.

No matter how many people pointed out this blatant violation of the RAS' own rules, the RAS was going to be as hypocritical as their masters, and simply pretended to be deaf and blind.

And with the help of the Aurovillage cult friends, Suryan now is the little dictator of “his” Auroville Council.

I suppose that's the happy end of this true story giving a brilliant example of the insane hypocrisy that “Auroville” is? That fake “Auroville” that exists only as a facade, built by the Aurovillage cult, with so much time, energy and money?

Or are there other chapters to come before “The Adventures of Suryan in Auroland” come to a close?

Here is Paul Vincent's post.
