From our sources, Mr. Govind Ranjan who revealed corruption in Government Grant utilization (report available in The Auroville Files website), without fair hearing from a Central Investigative Agency was ridiculed in a Resident Assembly meeting recently. He was asked to apologize to The Chairman for asking for his Resignation. He is an Indian citizen and has all the Constitutional rights to question or suggest any public authority and these rights are his fundamental duties to Mother India as per Article 51-A of Constitution of India (COI). Although the corrupted Residents wish to silence his Freedom of Speech as well. As per our sources Mr. Govind said that he will not ask for apology and this decision of his was an inner calling on Siddhi Day. As per our sources after Mr. Govind was removed from the housing provided by Auroville twice - and somehow after he revealed corruption coincidently.
As per the Whistleblower’s Act, any person who reveals corruption is protected against any punitive actions. Mr VikramRam & Shri Govind Ranjan and so many others (Foreigners & Indians) have suffered enough of punitive actions from the Corrupt Auroville Management as seen through our research.
We support Mr. Govind to the fullest and we also at the same time wonder is The Autonomy of Auroville to do Corruption while the Government sits back and let the Whistleblowers be harassed and silenced through the use of law, slander, and disrepute?
Is this what Auroville has become without ethics and transparency? Auroville – A spiritual community and a Government of India statutory body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development? What will be the future of Auroville where even as a Tourist attraction to the world, has murders and bomb blasts in the middle of the road at 5 pm on a Saturday? This brings disrepute to India and the reasons behind all this is the alleged collusion of the Auroville Management and the Land Mafia…which is protected by the corrupt Residents and ignorance of the Government.
We sincerely hope the Government can take care of the safety of Whistleblowers – and we believe that foreigners who speak the Truth in Auroville should also be extended these rights as safety against punitive action for doing the right thing is a fundamental human ethic irrespective of citizenship.

"Request resignation Dr. Karan Singh. We are dismayed to read the request of Mr. Govind to Dr. Karan Singh for his resignation which we consider completely inappropriate. We have informed Dr. Karan Singh and the Board members that Mr. Govind’s email has been sent by him in his personal capacity and does not reflect the views of the community. We have urged Dr. Karan Singh to ignore this request."
